DTP (Desk-top publishing)
What is it?
Imagine that you have a file or set of files in a not-so-common format, such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkExpress, and you need to have it translated without the hassle of format incompatibility. Desk-top publishing, also known as DTP, is simply a translation of a file in its original format.
What's in the package?
This package is quite simple. You send us the file(s) and specify in what format (or even multiple formats) you need it. We then ask you to tell us little bit more about the purpose of the file(s) to make sure that our team has all the information it needs to do its job with respect to local characteristics. The DTP package usually consists of:
  • Translation of the file(s) in the required format(s) and languages
  • PDF files of the translated material for reference purposes
  • Glossary of terminology for your future reference and subsequent translations
  • File compatibility check (e.g. compatibility within various operation systems or web browsers etc.)
  • Printing of the materials, if desired
What does it require?
During technical processing (software engineering) we use the latest technology and computer tools (CAT etc.) , as well as applications such as SDLX, Trados, Passolo, Alchemy Catalyst, Visual Localize, RoboHelp, and WebWorks, which allow our team to translate and process a wide range of formats from standard Windows files (16bit, 32bit, Pocket PC) EXE, DLL, SYS, OCX, through Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Delphi/C++, Java to internet formats XML, XHTML, HLP, CHM, or database files Oracle, IBM, MS SQL, all of this on different platforms (PC, MAC... ).
What formats do we work with?
The technology evolves really fast. Although we try to keep pace with it, it happens that we might not be aware of certain formats. In such case, you can let us know what format you need, and we will let you know within 24 hours whether or not we will be able to deliver it in the required format. Here is the list of the most common file formats and operation systems:
Operation systems:
  • Microsoft Windows
  • UNIX
  • Apple OS
Formats:
  • Microsoft file formats (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote, Access etc.)
